   I have the n78 and installed the 0.7.17 version with the 1.5.7 sis too. when i place a call the app crashes. i have tried setting the default internet to wifi and over the cell network before placing calls but it still crashed.
   also crashes when i search my contacts

   Do you get an error dialog or does the app just disappears? Did you reboot your phone after the installation of the python runtime?

   there is no error dialog; the app just disappears. I did, yes. I uninstalled and reinstalled python and the apps and still got same result.

   How many contacts do you have on your phone?

   Does the app crashes if you select Options/Set Access point?

   i have just under 400. and i had the access point set, yes. i remember in an earlier version it would ask for the access point and then crash; this is a different problem. it doesn't ask for the access point and then crash.. it just crashes.

   I am sorry but this is a known issue in the python runtime. Essentially the contacts module crashes/runs out of memory if you have too many contacts. On some phones it will start crashing on 200+ contacts and on some 1000+. I don't think it has anything to do with the available memory on the phone though and for some reason the 5th editions phones are more immune to this issue.

   I have already raised the issue with Nokia and hope that it will be fixed in the next python release.
