I followed the instructions here
Installation
1. Download and install the PyS60 1.9.7 runtime
2. For 3rd Edition phones (N95, E71, E75 etc.): download and install ssl_nokia_1_5_7.SIS
3. Download and install GoogleVoiceForS60_0.7.24_merged.sis
4. Reboot the phone.
first for the E: drive and then repeated with ALL of them in my C: drive neither option worked I always get told
"check if the following components are installed.
->Python Runtime
->PIPS library"
any suggestions?

On some phone the included pips library in the python runtime does not get installed correctly. Try installing this and let me know if it helps:

Try installing pips first. If it's still does not work you should wait for the Python 2.0 version which I plan to publish next week.

Just upgraded to n86 as the e61 was a little long in the tooth downloaded but did not install, both the python and security (they were both older than what was already on the handset) then installed gv4s60 - this time it worked (installed, and launched) - now having problems "placing"calls as the program just seemed to hang - so I exited it about 5 minutes later I got a call from my gvoice number (ie I think it was trying to place it for me) Don't know if its related but I have an address book with 2k+ contacts so I can only search and not view (what's the limit on the contacts BTW) I'll send more info if it'll help just let me know what you want.

This is also a know issue with the Python interpreter and is waiting for a fix from Nokia. I tried to make them aware that this is a serious issue and is inconveniencing many users but so far the Nokia python development team has not addressed the bug.
